Acts 10:38 (KJV)
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Pastor Javon Ruff focused his attention on one part of today’s theme Scripture, “Who went about doing good...” Jesus always went about doing good. Not just in his compassion towards others, but also to alleviate suffering, and to lift the heavy burdens. (Luke 4:18)
And in Jesus’ ministry, it was not just to meet the need, the basic measure, but always to surpass the need, more than was required. Jesus gave out, because he was an endless source.
In the feeding of the 5,000 in John 6 the little boy who gave up his lunch had no idea what was going to happen. Neither did the Disciples. They just knew the more they were giving out, the more there was to give out.
The Bible teaches us in Proverbs 3:27, “when it is in the power of your hand to bless someone, do it.” And in Matthew 6:3, “never let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”
So here we understand, we give to give; not to get. “And God is able to make all grace abound to you that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things may abound to every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
It has been said, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.
For those of us who are born again by the blood of Jesus, and have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, God has already made all His Grace abound to us. But not just for us, but for the whosoevers. God did not just love the world. “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” (John 3:16)
As God said to Paul, “My Grace is sufficient for thee.” (2 Corinthians 12:9) Not just enough; more than enough. And as Pastor Javon Ruff in his preaching said, “Grace wins, hands down!”
God is with us just as He was with Moses when what seemed like just a stick, turned into so much more and a sign of His everlasting presence. (Exodus 4:2-5).
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I confess I often presume You are with me, yet I seldom have Your power to heal those who are under the power of the devil as Jesus does in today's verse. Help me to draw near to You so that You will draw near to me, not just in Your sweet, sweet love and fellowship. Give me the love of Jesus to lay down my life. Give me the words of Jesus to be the aroma of life and living water beckoning those around me to freedom. And give me the power of Jesus to heal those who are under the power of the devil in all of its forms. In the Name of Jesus, I Pray. Amen.

The word “good” in today’s verse is the Greek euergeteo (for you scholars, Strong’s Concordance word number G2109). It means to do good works, be philanthropic, or to bestow benefits. You can follow Jesus’ example with your time, talent, acts of service, money, whatever resources you have. For example, there are many ways and levels of participation to do good through Free Chapel to physically and spiritually bless others in the Name of Jesus.
