Men chose to follow David once they saw that God’s divine hand was on his life. Day by day they came to him. This was not because of his stature or what he had done but because of who God is and how God chose to use David. 

David was someone who fell short often and even had an affair and committed murder. However, David was known as a man after God’s own heart. He was marked by his commitment to the Father, his honesty and devotion to Him, and his willingness to listen to conviction, confess, and hear the Father’s still small voice. 

In a world full of noise, sometimes it takes separating yourself from the rest of the world and taking the time to be alone with the Father and hear His still small voice. Trust that His divine hand is on your life and that nothing can ruin His plan for you.

Querido Padre Celestial,

Like David, help me to have a heart that listens and responds to conviction. I want to hear Your promptings so that I don’t make the wrong choices, and even when I do not act on them in time, I want to run to You in true, honest repentance. Please help me to have a heart that responds not one that just reacts. In the Name Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Who is someone that you look up to? Maybe this is a leader, a friend, or a mentor. How can you learn from their life, ask the hard questions, and grow in your understanding of the Lord? Seeking out wisdom allows you to lead others just as David did. The best leaders are those who serve and are willing to put their agendas to the side to listen to the voice of the Father and say yes to anything and everything from Him, no matter what it costs! Ask God how He can grow you today to become a greater leader of people and a greater listener to His still small voice.
