The Wisdom Of God

1 Corinthians 2:21 (NKJV)
“For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.”

In our quest for knowledge and understanding, humanity has often sought wisdom in the wrong places. Philosophers, scholars, and thinkers throughout history have tried to explain the mysteries of life and the universe through human intellect alone. Yet, despite all their efforts, the world in its wisdom did not come to know God.
God’s plan to save humanity didn’t come through the avenues that seemed wise or powerful in the eyes of the world. Instead, He chose what appeared foolish—a crucified Savior. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world not as a mighty conqueror or a celebrated philosopher, but as a humble servant who would lay down his life for humanity.
The message of the cross is simple, yet profound. It defies human logic and challenges the pride of human wisdom. The world might scoff at the idea that salvation could come through such a humble and sacrificial act, but it is precisely in this “foolishness” that the wisdom and power of God are revealed.
Jesus came to save humanity not through force, but through love. His life, death, and resurrection offer us a way back to God—a way that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their intellectual or social status. Salvation is not something we can earn or understand through our own wisdom; it is a gift that we receive by faith.
In a world that often values power, success, and intellect, the gospel reminds us that God’s ways are different. His wisdom is higher than ours, and His love is beyond our comprehension. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross may seem foolish to some, but to those who believe, it is the very power of God for salvation.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for choosing the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. I confess I am often embarrassed by things You prompt me to say and do from a concern of appearing foolish. Help me prefer to be a fool in the eyes of man rather than a fool in Your eyes. Help me train myself through constant use of Scripture and guide me when and how to apply each verse by Your Holy Spirit. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Do not be ashamed or afraid to be mocked for sharing the Gospel – that is from the evil one. Know today that you are pleasing to Jesus when you speak up and say, “Repent and be baptized. You can walk in a new life and a new way. Only Jesus offers this to you.” When you feel the Holy Spirit prompt you to say something, pray something, share something – try obedience! The rest is in God’s capable hands. You will grow in your ability to know when it is God’s voice versus your own mind or something else.
