The Power Of Life And Death

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Devoción
What we say matters. Jesus Himself said that “on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak” (Matthew 12:36). The Bible sets a clear standard for the believer: “Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak]” (Ephesians 4:29). Just as God brought creation into existence with His spoken words, our words also carry power. Our verse today in Proverbs shows that our tongue holds both the power of death and life, but which one we choose to release is up to us!
Pastor Franklin mentioned in his sermon that some of the ways we can remove the streaks from our walls include speaking in tongues, praying, praising, and declaring the Word of God over our home and family. Just as it was the priest’s job to take care of the Lord’s house, it is our job to take care of our home both physically and spiritually. It is our responsibility to confront issues and use our tongue to renounce the Enemy and speak life and blessings. Speaking the Word of God out loud in faith releases supernatural power. The word is living, active, operative, and effective (Hebrews 4:12). Do you want to shift the atmosphere in your home? Invite the Lord in. Consecrate it to Him. Declare the word of God over your home and claim it in Jesus’ name.
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
“You will be blessed when you come in and you will be blessed when you go out” (Deuteronomy 28:6).
“May it please You to bless the house of Your servant, so that it may continue forever before You; for You, O Lord God, have spoken it, and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever” (2 Samuel 7:29).
“Then my people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” (Isaiah 32:18).

Querido Padre Celestial,
We are a people of unclean lips. Please forgive us and purify us! Set a guard over our mouth. Help us use our words to bless others and to boldly declare Your truth. In the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

A principle in the kingdom of God is that the mouth will speak out of the abundance of the heart (Matthew 12:34). If you desire to speak life, then fill your heart with God’s words that can change how we look at life, the power to change our circumstances, and the ability to bless other people. Your mouth will be a flow of the living water that is inside. “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
