God’s Unexpected Communications
Acts 10:9-10 (NIV)
“About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.”
Devoción
Peter's experience on the rooftop offers a crucial lesson. Often, amid our daily routines, as Peter was waiting for his meal, God speaks to us. It is in these seemingly mundane moments that we must be open to divine revelations. The trance Peter experienced wasn't just a supernatural occurrence; it was a symbol of his openness to God's voice, even in unexpected ways.
This passage also underscores the revolutionary nature of God’s message – breaking down the barriers between Jew and Gentile. The vision of the sheet with clean and unclean animals symbolizes the breaking of traditional prejudices and the inclusivity of God's kingdom. It reminds us that God's love, salvation and sanctification are available to all, irrespective of our earthly divisions.
Peter’s experience, paralleled with other biblical figures like Moses, Balaam, Elijah, and Jeremiah, illustrates that God communicates in diverse ways. Whether through burning bushes, talking donkeys, gentle whispers, or dramatic visions, God's methods are as varied as His messages. This diversity encourages us to be open to God's voice in all forms, be it through Scripture, others' words, circumstances, or even extraordinary means like dreams and visions.
Let this passage inspire us to deepen our prayer life, not as a religious obligation, but as a living, breathing dialogue with God. Let us be open to God's unexpected communications and embrace prayer not just as a part of your routine, but as a vital, continuous link to God.
In doing so, we open ourselves to a deeper intimacy with God, and to experiencing His power and presence in every aspect of our lives.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Amid my everyday life, just like Peter on the rooftop, help me to hear Your voice. Open my heart to Your divine revelations, and guide me to embrace living for You, even when it’s difficult. Teach me to recognize Your presence in every moment and deepen my conversations with You, making prayer a vibrant and essential part of my day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Prayer, as practiced by Peter, transcends mere ritual. It embodies a deep, personal communion with God, not just fulfilling a religious duty. Peter was in a state of prayer when God chose to reveal His will to him. Today marks day nine of the fast. Use your time today for God purposes - get alone with Him and ask Him to speak.
