THE FAST - Day 1

Selling Everything For The Kingdom Of Heaven
Matthew 13:44-46 (NIV)
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Devoción
The kingdom of heaven is beyond anything we can ask for or imagine. Jesus suffered a brutal execution to pay for our admission. Yet, we often waver in uncertainty as we pursue our King Jesus and his kingdom.
What should we do when we realize we don't have the faith or the will to surrender everything to Jesus?
1) Ask for God's help. Simply pray, “Lord, my heart is hard. Please help me break up the soil of my heart so that the seed of Your Word can be planted and bear good fruit in me.”
2) Spend time in God's Word. Scripture tells us that the law is the schoolmaster that brings us to Jesus. (Galatians 3:24)
3) Complain less and thank God for what He has provided. Scripture says, “He who offers thank offerings honors God and prepares the way that God might show him salvation.” (Psalms 50:23)
4) Be more like Cornelius who gave regularly to the needy. (Acts 10:2-4)
5) Do your work willingly and ask for God's help. The thorns and thistles (Genesis 3:18-19) - challenges of our natural work earning our daily bread – were designed by God as redemptive disciplines to turn our heart toward Him and ask for help. As we ask for help in our work, God softens our heart to help us see that Jesus' yoke is easy and his burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30) God can change your heart.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
Grant me the wisdom and strength to seek Your Kingdom above all else. Help me focus on what truly matters in Your eyes, and guide my steps as I navigate life's journey. May Your will be my compass, and may I find joy and fulfillment in seeking Your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
