Paul warns us not to engage in thoughts or imaginations that oppose a lifestyle reflective of God’s holiness. The boundaries that God has set to protect us from the enemy (who comes to kill, steal, and destroy—John 10:10) are a fortress that protects our minds and, therefore, our actions. If we stay in the Word, invite the Lord into every thought and action through prayer and diligence, then we will not lose this battle.

Pastor Franklin reminded us this last week that although David had served the Lord for many years and had seen His faithfulness, he was still a victim of the enemy when he became slack in spiritual warfare.

While others wallow in blissful ignorance, while the world sings of tolerance and acceptance and embraces the flesh, the devil prowls and takes advantage of their carelessness.

We cannot coast on yesterday’s victories, nor can we tempt fate and risk being slothful in our imaginations. We are at war, and we must remain engaged! While we cannot control external events, we can control our thoughts and take them captive before the Lord.

Oración de hoy

Querido Padre Celestial,

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. I set a garrison about my heart with Your Word, for Your words are life to me and health to all my flesh. Let my eyes look right on, and my eyelids look straight before me, as I follow Your footsteps. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

One of the best ways to stay clear of the enemy’s entrapments is to stay full of the Word of God. If we are so full of something, there is no room for anything else to enter. Colossians 3:16 tells us, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” As a faithful servant, may the Lord find us so doing when He returns.
