The Cost Of Rebellion

Numbers 16:9-13 (NKJV)
“Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the work of the tabernacle of the Lord…? …Moreover you take too much upon yourselves… Is it a small thing that you brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness…?”
Devoción
Korah and his followers were not ordinary Israelites, they were Levites, chosen and set apart by God for service. Yet instead of walking in gratitude and submission, they allowed pride to distort their perspective. They began to despise the very honor God had given them and sought positions of greater authority, rebelling against Moses, God’s appointed leader.
Disobedience is costly. Not only does it lead us out of alignment with God's purpose, but it also opens our hearts to deception. Notice how the rebels described Egypt, the place of their slavery, as “a land flowing with milk and honey.” That was never God’s description of Egypt; it was of Canaan, their Promised Land. Pride and rebellion will always revise the past to make bondage look better than the freedom we have in God, especially when that freedom comes with accountability, correction, or spiritual discipline.
When we reject God's order and authority, we’re not just resisting people, we’re in turn resisting God Himself. And rebellion always brings consequences, not just for us, but for those around us.
Let’s be mindful to submit our hearts to God and honor the leaders He places over us. God’s structure is not for oppression, it’s for protection, growth, and fulfillment of purpose..
Today's Prayer
Querido Padre Celestial,
Forgive me for the times I’ve allowed pride to blind me or caused me to reject Your appointed order. Help me to trust Your ways, even when they challenge me. Keep me from revisiting the bondage You’ve delivered me from, and give me a heart that honors You and those You’ve placed in my life for spiritual direction. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Choose today to submit fully to God’s leadership and to the spiritual authorities He has placed in your life. Accountability is not your enemy, it’s a gift that keeps you aligned with God’s will.
