Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)
“Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Devoción
In Nehemiah 8:10, we see a call to celebration, a holy day where God’s people were encouraged to feast and share with those who had nothing. As Christians, we can take this as a reminder of the Lord's Supper, where we celebrate the body and blood of Christ. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross has the power to break generational curses, heal addictions, poverty, lack, and bring healing to all diseases. The victory of Christ extends even to legal battles and every challenge we face in life. This celebration is not just a ritual but a declaration of the freedom we have in Christ.
The verse also reminds us to "send some to those who have nothing prepared," pointing to the importance of spreading the love of Christ to others. There are so many who are lost, trapped in darkness, addiction, drugs, and all manner of struggles. We are called to reach out to them, not only with material help—such as money, food, clothing, shelter, and medicine—but with the message of salvation that can snatch them from the fires of hell.
As we enjoy the blessings of knowing Christ, we must not keep it to ourselves. Our mission is to spread the hope and love of Jesus to those who are perishing. Sharing the gospel is just as important, if not more so, than providing material support. We are called to be the light of the world, leading those in darkness into the marvelous light of Christ. The joy of the Lord, celebrated in fellowship and in sharing His love, is where our strength lies.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for the gift of salvation and the joy that comes from knowing You. Help me to share this joy with others, especially those who are lost and in need. Give me the strength to spread Your love and snatch souls from the darkness. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Make a plan to share some of your resources, whether money, time, food, clothing, supplies, with someone who has little – in Jesus’ Name. Planning will help you be a cheerful giver and multiply the joy of the Lord (1 Corinthians 9:7-8). If you need ideas, Free Chapel is involved in the lives of people who are in a season of having little. You can check out the Serve Teams for outreach opportunities or ask how you can bless one of the recovery homes.
