The Blood, The Armor, and Crushing Satan

Exodus 12:21-23 (NIV)
"Then Moses summoned all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go at once and select the animals for your families and slaughter the Passover lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.”
Devoción
Just as the LORD struck down the first born of the Egyptians to bring judgment on the gods of Egypt, judgment is coming on the devil, the fallen angels, and those who refuse God's command, “all men everywhere” to repent. (Acts 17:30) But our sin and shame can be covered by the blood of Jesus, our Passover lamb, who was sacrificed.
Are you covered by the blood of Jesus? Are you staying inside the house with Jesus' blood covering the top and sides of the doorframe? Or, are you making frequent excursions outside the protection of the blood of the everlasting covenant to indulge in the world, your flesh, and even the devil?
Just as Israel was told to armor up, fight, and take the promised land, those under the blood of Jesus are to put on the full armor of God and stand against the devil's schemes. How is that going for you? Are there weak points in your armor – your belt of truth, shield of faith, or helmet of salvation perhaps? Are your feet fitted with the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace? Are you excellent in what is good and innocent of evil, so that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet, just as he brought judgment on Egypt's gods? It's OK if you are not where you need to be yet. Just ask the Lord to show you what and how you need to change.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for the blood of Jesus. I pray that you would clothe me in the full armor of God so I can stand against the devil's schemes. Show me where there are weak areas in my spiritual armor, so I can grow in my character and be excellent in what is good and innocent of evil. I confess I don't understand how this all works, but I would so much like to see You crush Satan under my feet as promised in Romans 16:20. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Do you begin each day under the Lord’s protection? Starting today or tomorrow morning, begin the day asking God for these: the helmet of salvation, belt of truth, shield of faith, and feet that are fitted with the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace. Do this each day through Friday. On Saturday, take time to reflect on the previous days. Did you experience more of God’s protection from temptation, doubt, accusation? Did you have more peace? Did you do a better job remembering God’s word and priorities?
