Supreme Responsibility

Ephesians 5:23-25 (NKJV)
“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Today we will dive deep into the topic of spiritual leadership in our households. We live in a world filled with many opinions based on today’s worldview on the topic of marriage and what a modern household entails. In Sunday’s message Pastor Jentezen challenged men and women alike to embrace a biblical standpoint about spiritual leadership in our homes.

God in His divine wisdom has provided plenty of instructions and examples to provide each household with a practical structure, with valid guidelines that if applied properly in our lives will provide us with an environment where God's tangible presence will reign supreme. Contrary to what some teach, leadership in the home is not about power or control. The Apostle Paul makes it very clear that it is not about a woman being inferior to a man, but respectfully approaches the subject of a Godly relationship as one of mutual submission, respect, and trust.

The command to the husband and wife in today’s theme passage, occurs within the context of a call for all Christians to submit to one another, in love and respect as unto the Lord. A husband is not the savior of the wife’s body. Nevertheless, the analogy holds that the husband is to be the protector of his wife. In submission, the wife is called to serve her husband, just as the church serves Christ, with freedom and dignity.
The Apostle Paul’s exhortation is equally clear to husbands: They are to love their wives in the same way Christ sacrificially loved the church. Spiritual leadership means giving up yourself for someone else. It means assuming responsibility for the health and development of your relationships.

Querido Padre Celestial,

We humbly come before Your throne of mercy and grace, knowing we have all fallen short of the mark. Help us restore what needs to be restored in our lives, break the stronghold of unforgiveness and please help us to take responsibility for our past actions. We put before You our doubts and fears asking You Divine Healer, to restore and build our inner character to be able to exercise a Godly influence in our family. Help us all to develop a biblical standpoint in all our actions and intentions from this day forward. In the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Prayerfully ponder and evaluate your Home Leadership, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your initiative of taking responsibility for past actions. Forgive who you need to forgive and ask forgiveness if needed. Take ownership for your past deeds knowing you have a loving, merciful God, who is more than willing to mend what has been broken.
Take the time to develop a closer and more intimate relationship with God and others through open conversations. Ask God to reveal what areas of your life need to be developed. If we are open and honest, we all have areas that need to be entrusted into God’s loving hands to help each of us become the best possible versions of ourselves for the benefit of our families.
