Strength In The Same Place

Sunday, May 4

2 Corinthians 12:6-7 (NIV)

“Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.”

There’s a strange comfort in knowing that even the great Apostle Paul had a “thorn”, an unresolved weakness that remained despite his earnest prayers. And yet, God didn’t remove it. Not because He lacked compassion or power, but because He saw purpose in the pain.

God's will for your life is not fragile. It doesn’t shatter in your moments of weakness. In fact, it’s often in those very places, your “thorns”, that His strength is most clearly revealed. Paul didn’t lose his calling because of his affliction. The visions, the anointing, the revelations, those still stood. What changed was his posture: from self-reliance to full dependence on the Keeper of his soul.

Our weaknesses don’t cancel God’s plans. Instead, they become the soil in which His strength is cultivated. The very area you wish God would take away may be the place He’s using to deepen your trust, refine your character, and elevate His glory.

You may feel like your weakness disqualifies you, but God says it identifies you as the perfect candidate for His grace. When you're at your weakest, you're not off track. You are positioned to draw power not from yourself, but from the One who never changes, never fails, and never gives up on His purpose for your life.

Oración de hoy

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You that Your plans for me do not waver in my weakness. Teach me to lean into Your strength when I feel like I fall short. Help me see that my weakness is not a disqualification, but a doorway to deeper dependence on You. Be my strength and my Keeper today and always. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Write down one area where you feel most inadequate, and beside it, write what God promises in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Meditate on this daily and invite God to be your strength in that exact place.
