Standing Battle Ready

Joshua 11:4-6 (ESV)
“And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number like the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. And all these kings joined their forces and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. And the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
Devoción

Today marks one year since the horrific attacks on the nation of Israel, the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. God’s chosen nation which He, Himself gave to the Israelites, is still in an ongoing battle for her very existence. What God has ordained, the enemy will rise against, and as God’s children, we must side with Him and support the nation of Israel against ALL her enemies.

Around 4,000 years ago, God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham stating that He will give him and his descendants a land of promise and offer them His protection as they walk in obedience to Him. God said He would lead Abraham’s descendants to that land, gathering them from all around the world, and make them a prosperous nation. Around 700 years after this promise, God carries out that covenant with Joshua as He instructs him to lead His chosen people into the land of Israel.

Notice that Joshua did not question God, just as he did not question the promise forty years earlier, as he was confident that they could go in and possess the land. Even after forty years of wandering in the wilderness, His faith remained strong, and he stood battle ready! Like Israel, you too, may have been facing obstacles for a long period of time, waiting to walk into the promises God has made to you. Stand strong as you take steps daily to walk in complete obedience to Him. Grow your faith and stand battle ready, knowing that as you keep your side of the covenant, He will keep His, just as He has and will continue to keep His covenant with Israel.

Oración de hoy

Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You for the great men and women of faith to whom we can look and encourage ourselves and others when the world around us is dark and dreary. I ask Your blessings to come upon the nation of Israel and that You will, once again, give her enemies into her hands and bring peace into Your promised land. Lord, for the devastation that so many in Israel, America, and around the world are enduring at this time, please help them navigate the rough terrain with Your peace, even in the midst of the crisis. I ask You to make every needed provision on their behalf, and I commit to doing my part to assist. As I have been awaiting the fulfillment of the visions You’ve placed in my heart, I ask that You help me to analyze my life and make any changes needed in order to make myself ready for the promises to be fulfilled. In the Name of Jesus, my Savior, who was born, raised, and ministered as an Israeli, I pray. Amen.
