Snow Bank

Job 38:22-23 NKJV
“Have you entered the treasury of snow, Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of battle and war?”
Devoción
In the cold dark seasons of life, or even in the midst of a fast like what we have just been through, when you don’t feel anything is happening, your prayers are like a treasury of snow. The time spent pouring out your heart to God as you brought your families names before Him during those barren, desolate winter seasons are not in vain. You have been storing up for the times of trouble. Each prayer, each utterance of praise is like the ice crystals that form snowflakes and accumulate so that soon we have snow stored up in snow banks before God! Even in the storms of life, when our prayers are like raindrops carried upward by the thunderstorm into the cold atmosphere that freezes it into hail. You are storing up an arsenal of hail for times of spiritual warfare.
<
div>Have you experienced winter’s landscape change with a blanket of snow before? There is a sense of peace where the snow actually has the capacity to dampen sound, and there is a breathtaking purity in the beauty of a fresh fallen snow. In the metaphor used today of snow and hail being stored up for the times of trouble and warfare, our blanket of prayers over people and situations are like that blanket of snow. They dampen the voices of doubt as we continue to have faith for what we pray for.
Our tears and groanings in those hours of prayer during the storms of life are like that hail formed. Our stored-up prayers become a memorial before God that He will see and answer in the time of trouble.
Winter’s season of prayer, yearns for a season of breakthrough, and new life like when the early spring flowers push up through the snow! Keep the faith that spring will come. Meanwhile, continue to make deposits in your snow bank!
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You for keeping track of every prayer I pray, every tear that falls, and every concern that I have, even those I hide away in my heart. I believe You see my prayers as a beautiful snow covering of all my thoughts and concerns for myself and for those about whom I care for and love. I know that You see the beautiful landscape of what You are creating underneath it all. I ask that You help my heart not to grow weary in the waiting. Help me to keep my focus on You and trust in what You are bringing forth in the spring season. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
