The Apostle Paul praised the Galatian churches which were city-based congregations located in a Roman province. He praised them for a strong start in faith, noting they were running the race with excellence. He urged them not to heed false teachers, influenced by Satan, who were leading them astray from the truth. This dangerous legalism was spreading, preventing them from living by faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross. God is not the source of confusion; rather, Satan seeks to disrupt our spiritual journey.

We must stay vigilant to live by the truth, as “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”

A small influence can derail our progress if we rely on our own efforts instead of God’s grace.

Paul’s trust in the Galatians’ restoration was rooted in God’s faithfulness, not human reasoning, when he wrote, “I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view” (Galatians 5:10 (NIV)). In Sunday’s message, Courteney encouraged us to become anchored in the Lord and not take any other view or worldly perspective. Through His power, we can overcome obstacles and finish the race. Let us run with perseverance, trusting God to guide us through every challenge that might otherwise “cut in” on us!

Thank You for calling us to run this race of faith with endurance and purpose. Forgive us for the times we’ve allowed distractions, doubts, or false teachings to slow us down or lead us astray. We ask for discernment to recognize anything that seeks to “cut in” on our walk with You. Anchor our hearts in Your truth and grace, and help us stay focused on the finished work of Christ. Strengthen us to persevere when the road is hard, and remind us that You are with us every step of the way. May we run not in our own strength, but in the power of Your Spirit, finishing well for Your glory. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
