Pressing On Toward The Goal
Sunday, August 2
Philippians 3:12–14 (NIV)
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Devoción
Paul wrote these words during a mature season of his ministry. By then, he had spent many years preaching the gospel, planting churches, enduring persecution, and serving Christ faithfully. Even while writing from prison, he did not see his work as finished. Instead, he declared, “I press on.” His eyes were fixed on Christ, not on his past achievements. Paul understood that every day was another opportunity to fulfill God’s purpose and make Christ known.
This same calling continues today. Daniel 12:3 says, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Every act of faithfulness and every life led to Christ has eternal value.
Like Paul, we are called to keep moving forward with joy, knowing that the race is worth finishing and the reward Christ has prepared is eternal.
As we continue walking with Christ, may we resist the temptation to become comfortable or distracted by what lies behind us. There is still purpose ahead, people to reach, and Kingdom work to accomplish. God is faithful to strengthen us for every season, and when we keep our eyes on Him, He gives us the endurance to run our race with perseverance until the very end.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for the purpose and calling You have placed on my life. Help me to let go of what is behind me and keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. Give me the strength to keep pressing forward, even when the journey is difficult. Teach me to remain faithful in every season and use my life to bring glory to You and impact others for Your Kingdom. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
