Praise Through The Suffering

Thursday, April 20

And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.”
Job 1:21
Devoción

Today we see Job, a man who seemingly had it all, suddenly lose it all. And in that devastating moment which must have been filled with shock and grief, we see an amazing example of how to suffer. In that moment, Job falls to the ground in worship.

He doesn’t turn his back on God, but instead he worships Him. He praises God proclaiming, “Blessed be the name of the Lord” because a child of God suffers differently. As followers of Christ, we will have trials and suffering, but we can have joy in the midst of our suffering because of Christ.

Do not lose confidence in God! Worship through the trials, sing praises through the suffering: suffer in such a way that it will begin to convert those who do not know Christ.

Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,

Please help me find your mercy and goodness when trials and storms of life come my way. If I am prone to grumble and complain, may your Holy Spirit convict my heart and remind me to be thankful for the promise of eternity because of the cross. I give you praise because you are with me even now. Amen!
