One Touch Can Change Everything

Mark 5:26-27 (NIV)
“She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak,”

For twelve long years, the woman in Mark 5 lived in the shadow of suffering. Her body was weary. Her resources were gone. Her hope, by human standards, should have run dry. Yet despite the limitations of her body, the failures of doctors, and the wall of people surrounding Jesus, she chose to believe that just one touch could change her story.
Faith like hers doesn’t come from comfort. It’s born in the fire of adversity, when every door has closed, and you’ve tried everything else. She could have given up. She could have believed the voice of defeat that whispered, “This is your life now.” But she refused to settle. She didn’t wait to be noticed or invited. She pressed in, believing that Jesus was enough.
Her breakthrough didn’t come from being strong; it came from being determined. She had no standing in society, no strength left in her body, and yet she pressed through the crowd. Opposition didn’t stop her. People’s opinions didn’t matter. All that mattered was touching the Savior.
Today, maybe you feel surrounded by limitations, physical, emotional, or even spiritual. Maybe others have tried to talk you out of your faith, or life’s disappointments have dulled your belief in miracles. But don’t stop pressing in. Don’t stop reaching. That same Jesus is passing by, and one touch is still enough.
Don’t let your condition define your conclusion. The crowd may be thick, the obstacles may be real, but God's power is greater. Reach out with faith. Refuse to be silenced or sidelined. Press in, because one touch from Jesus truly can change everything.

Querido Padre Celestial,
I confess that I know faith comes by hearing but that I avoid hearing and feeding on Your Word. Help me to be more diligent and disciplined. Speak to my heart to build the faith I need for the work to which I am called. Speak to me through music, through Scripture, through prayer, through preaching, and through circumstance. And help me to hear and respond with true, complete, and abiding trust. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Pastor Franklin recommended using the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) to say grace before a meal for a while. Rather than repeating it without thinking, consider that each phrase describes an area for us to reach out for God’s touch in our lives.
