Love That Won’t Grow Cold

Matthew 24:12 (NIV)
“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,”
Devoción
Life has a way of chipping away at us. Disappointments, betrayals, unanswered prayers, and seasons of waiting can cause our hearts to slowly harden. Jesus warned that in the last days, because of the increase of wickedness, “the love of many would grow cold.” It’s not just sin in the world that poses danger, it’s the slow numbing of our own hearts if we’re not careful.
But friend, God never intended for your heart to become stone. Even in the toughest seasons, He offers a love that breaks through the coldest places. The touch of God can press through the thick layers of hardness, and awaken something alive within us again. His Spirit breathes life into brittle bones and renews the places we thought were forever shut down.
Don't allow pain or injustice to drive you away from love. Instead, let them drive you to the One who is Love. Let the warmth of His mercy, His kindness, and His truth soften you. Love is not weakness, it is the fire that keeps our hearts alive in a world that tries to freeze them. God is reaching out to touch your heart with His love.

Querido Padre Celestial,
I confess I might be too blind to know whether my love has grown cold. Is my heart not deceitful? Show me how to fan into a flame the gift of God that is in me from the touch and breath of Jesus. Bring correction and conviction as soon as my love begins to cool at all, much less get in the range of being lukewarm or cold. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on me, and keep the fire in my heart for Jesus hot, hot, hot. Show me how to pray and worship and serve to keep that fire hot. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Through his death on the cross and resurrection, Jesus came to restore all things – especially relationship with God. If sin and shame have separated you from God, making your relationship distant and cold – repent! Do not resign yourself to separation from God for any reason. Jesus encourages all of us to be earnest and repent so that we can live in close relationship with him (Revelation 3:19-20).
