Living Set Apart For The Lord

Thursday, August 7

Revelation 14:9-10 (NIV)
“A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.”

The book of Revelation gives us sobering warnings, none more serious than the one we find in this passage. The angel warns that those who follow the beast (symbolizing rebellion against God and allegiance to evil) will face the full wrath of God. This is not a light or casual warning. It reveals that our choices today, how we live, who we serve, and what we teach our children, carry eternal consequences.

Families are on the frontlines of this spiritual battle. In a world that constantly pushes compromise and self-worship, we must be intentional about living for the Lord and raising children who do the same. Faith isn’t just something we talk about on Sundays; it’s a way of life that must shape our decisions, values, and homes.

The call is clear: Set your family apart for God. Don’t let culture disciple your children more than you do. Don’t let worldly influences outweigh the truth of Scripture. As parents, grandparents, and mentors, we are called to model authentic faith and teach the next generation to worship God alone, so they will not be deceived or drawn away.

Oración de hoy

Querido Padre Celestial,
Help us to take Your warnings seriously. Give us wisdom and strength to live set apart for You in a world full of compromise. Teach us to lead our families in Your ways, to be examples of faith, and to raise children who will boldly stand for You. Keep our hearts soft toward You and protect us from deception. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!

This week, have a family conversation about what it means to live for God in practical ways. Identify one area where your family can grow in faithfulness, whether it’s praying together daily, limiting negative influences, or intentionally serving others, and make a plan to do it.
