Living As A Testimony Of Christ

Acts 2:12-17 (NIV)
“Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.” Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

In Acts 2, we witness a powerful moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the believers during Pentecost, causing such a stir that the crowd gathered in amazement. They recognized that something supernatural was taking place, and their curiosity led them to ask questions. This was the moment when Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, stepped forward and began to explain what was happening. He used this opportunity not just to satisfy their curiosity but to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Peter's boldness in stepping up to speak about God sets an example for us. Just as the people in Jerusalem were astonished by the supernatural events they witnessed, there are moments in our lives when those around us notice something different. Perhaps they see our peace in the midst of turmoil, our joy in the face of hard times, or our love in a world often filled with hate. These moments of curiosity—when people ask, “What does this mean?”—are divine opportunities for us to share the hope we have in Christ.
What is it about your life that reflects the supernatural work of God? Perhaps it’s a story of transformation from brokenness to wholeness, from despair to hope, or from sin to salvation.
Peter told the crowd that they should listen to the testimony of the believers because risen Christ had changed their lives, and He could change the lives of those listening as well. The same is true today. These are the stories that God has written into our lives, and they are meant to be shared.
So, what is your story? What has God done in your life that could only be explained by His handiwork? Our testimony about what Christ has done in our lives can lead others to experience the life-changing power of the Gospel.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for the work You have done in my life. Help me to live in such a way that others are curious about the hope that I have in You. I confess I rely too much on past blessings and I do not ask daily for the Holy Spirit's filling, and gift of prophecy that I need for Your living water to flow in me and through me. Lord God, put Your Holy Spirit on me so powerfully that in the moment of opportunity I have the boldness of Peter to share Jesus and I have the right words, the right prayer, the right Scripture, the right love at the right time to melt hearts and be an effective testimony of Your grace and power. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

In business, there is a term called the “elevator speech.” It is a short, clear summary of what you do or have to offer that takes about as long to share as an elevator ride. How has Jesus changed your life? Work on a specific, meaningful answer that is about 30 seconds long that you can use whenever the opportunity arises. Be prepared to give the reason for the hope that you have.
