Joyful Expectation

Luke 1:41-45 NIV
At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
Devoción
Mary and Elizabeth carried within them two extraordinary children—Jesus and John the Baptist. John the Baptist leaped for joy in his mother's womb at the sound of Mary's greeting.

This leap of joy, in the presence of Jesus in Mary's womb, reminds us that God's plan for our lives begins long before we are even aware of it. His reaction to the presence of Jesus teaches us about the joy that comes from being in the presence of the Lord.

In our own lives, when we draw near to God through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word, we can experience a similar joy that transcends circumstances and fills us with hope. As we reflect on John the Baptist's life and the joy he experienced even before birth, let us be inspired to seek God's purpose for our lives, rejoice in His presence, and trust in His promises.

Just as John played a vital role in preparing the way for Jesus, each of us has a unique role in God's grand plan. May we, like John, find joy in fulfilling that purpose and trust in God's faithfulness, believing that He will fulfill His promises in our lives.

Querido Padre Celestial,

I thank you for Jesus and the joy available through His death and resurrection. I thank you for your promise of joy as I draw near to you. I confess that I am often distracted and robbed of my joy by the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth. Help me, Lord God, to fix my eyes on Jesus, so that I may receive the joy you have for me. Furthermore, I pray for an increasing outpouring of your Holy Spirit and His fruit of love, joy, and peace in my life.
In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

If a baby in the womb can leap in the presence of Jesus, how much more should we give God praise out loud? Take this moment to declare out loud: Hallelujah, Messiah has come! Hallelujah, Jesus is alive! Thank you, Jesus, for your plan for my life! Hallelujah, Messiah is coming back!
