His Resurrection Changes Everything

Sunday, April 7

1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
Devoción
The resurrection changes everything. If it were not for the resurrection, then God would not be true to His promises. He would not be who He says He is. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, we have hope. We know that we can face tomorrow. He brings beauty from ashes and brings us from death to life! Because of him, we have our own resurrection stories. He doesn’t have to, but he chooses to use us, grow us, and continues to write our stories every day as we cling to him.

On Good Friday, Jesus chose to sacrifice himself by dying a gruesome death on the cross. He did it for all humanity. He paid all of our debts in full. Then, imagine Saturday, utter silence. Where was the Savior of the world? May this silent Saturday always be a reminder that even when we don’t hear God, He is still moving and still working. Sunday is coming! Finally, Sunday arrives, and our beautiful Savior is no longer in the tomb. This symbolizes death to life and is a picture of what God does in us when we follow Him all the days of our life. Thank God for Sunday and for the power of the resurrection that changes everything!

Querido Padre Celestial,
I confess I often shrink from sharing my faith and Your testimony of the resurrection of Jesus. Show me how to think and practice and gain confidence so that I am always prepared to give the reason for the hope that I have. Show me by Your Holy Spirit when and how to be an effective witness for Jesus. Show me when to be silent so that I do not throw my pearls to pigs (Matthew 7:6). Show me by Your Holy Spirit where people are really stuck so that I can speak to their hearts and help them get unstuck in their journey to Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Who do you need to share your resurrection story with? God does not want us to keep our story to ourselves. He calls us to the great commission, to make disciples. People need your unique story. No one in the world has the same sphere of influence as you do. Use that sphere of influence to share your story.
