Don’t Let Compromise Destroy Potential

2 Samuel 11:1-3 NKJV
It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?”
Devoción
Like David, most of us at one time or another have probably allowed compromise to create a weak spot in our Spiritual lives. We must self-evaluate and ask if we allowed these weak times to become defining moments that brought strongholds into our lives. We as believers have a weapon that can defeat the strongholds, but first, we must admit we have them.
Our greatest weapon is God's Word. When we spend time in His word, it becomes easier to say no to sin and temptation. We also become able to break down strongholds that would have kept us bound before. We need to remember that as we do our part, God has the final say in our lives. We must realize that even if we fall into sin, God is there to pick us up. Nothing can come against us that He can’t handle when we surrender to Him. Don't let Satan have the last say. Press into God and allow Him to have the final say instead.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I praise You because You are my loving Father who watches over every area of my life and helps me to rise up victoriously over the enemy. I ask Your forgiveness where I have failed. Please grant me the wisdom to stand firm against the tactics of the enemy. Draw me nearer to You, precious Lord, so that I may stand strong with You during times of temptation. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
