Do You Believe?

Mark 9:23 (NIV)
“’If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Devoción
There are moments in life when we find ourselves standing before mountains that seem immovable—diagnoses that look final, relationships that appear too broken to restore, dreams that feel too far gone. In those moments, it’s easy to echo the words of the desperate father in Mark 9 who pleaded with Jesus, “If You can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
But Jesus’ response was powerful and personal: “‘If you can’? Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Pastor Jentezen highlighted in his sermon on Sunday, that it’s not a question of whether God will do it—it’s a question of whether you believe. God’s power has never been in question. His ability to heal, restore, and turn things around has never been limited. What He looks for is faith—a heart that dares to believe even when everything else says it’s over.
Faith is not denial of reality; it’s confidence in God’s authority over it. Believing against all odds means trusting that God’s Word carries more weight than the report, the numbers, or the timeline. It means holding onto hope when logic says to let go.
The father in this story did something remarkable—he admitted his weakness but still chose faith. He cried out, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” And that’s all Jesus needed. Even a mustard seed of faith was enough to release His miracle-working power.
So, what are you believing God for today? Don’t ask, “Will He?” Ask instead, “Do I believe He can and will?” Because when faith rises, impossibilities crumble.

Querido Padre Celestial,
I confess I often pray for personal things that I want rather than submitting to Your will. Help me remember to ask for wisdom and Your kingdom and Your will above all. By Your Holy Spirit and Scripture, help me discern what You are willing to do for me, so I can pray according to Your will. Show me Your discipleship goals for me in the trials that I face, so I have proper focus on being changed rather than the trial just being over. Help me to never doubt that You can and to stop confusing Your ability with Your discipleship process to help me grow in joy, thanksgiving, and perseverance. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Pastor Franklin pointed out that sometimes we consider a situation, a dream, a person as “dead,” meaning beyond recovery. He encouraged us to throw away that doubt, that unbelief, that casket. Instead, put on the whole armor of God (you can pray through this using Ephesians chapter six) and put on the garment of praise today instead of the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Lift up your voice to Jesus in trust rather than mourning.
