Divine Affirmation

Luke 3:21-22 (NIV)
"When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
Devoción
In the sacred waters of baptism, we find more than a mere ritual; we discover a profound connection to the heart of God. Luke's Gospel paints a vivid picture of Jesus stepping into the waters of the Jordan River, not out of necessity but as a profound act of identification with humanity.
Imagine the scene: as Jesus submits to John's baptism, the heavens open, and the Holy Spirit descends upon him like a dove. In this moment, we witness the divine affirmation of Jesus' identity and mission. The voice of the Father resounds from above, declaring, "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
This divine encounter unveils the significance of baptism for us today. Just as Jesus was affirmed and empowered for his ministry through baptism, so too are we. Through the waters of baptism, we are united with Christ in his death and resurrection, becoming partakers of his divine nature and recipients of his grace.
As we reflect on Jesus' baptism, let us draw encouragement and inspiration for our journey of faith. Like Jesus, may we approach baptism not merely as a religious obligation but as a profound moment of encounter with God our Heavenly Father. In those sacred waters, we find forgiveness, renewal, and empowerment for a life of discipleship.
Furthermore, just as the Father affirmed Jesus as His beloved Son, so too does He affirm us as His beloved children. Through baptism, we are adopted into the family of God, lavished with His love, and commissioned for kingdom service. Our identity is no longer defined by our past or present circumstances but by our union with Christ.
Let us, therefore, embrace the reality of our baptism each day, living as people who are deeply loved, forgiven, and empowered by God. Let us walk in the confidence that we are God's beloved children, called to live out our faith with courage and conviction.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You for the gift of salvation through the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition, I praise You for the gift of water baptism. Just as Jesus followed Your plan of water baptism, and You announced, “This is my Son, in Whom I am well pleased”, I believe You make that announcement of each son and daughter who are baptized according to Your plan. I am thankful that You provided a way for a public declaration of dying to the old man and raising to new life in You. It is indeed a special moment bonding with You, and I thank You for that gift. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
