Choose Today Whom You Will Serve

Joshua 24:15 (NKJV)
“And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua spoke with courage and clarity when he declared that his household would serve the Lord. He understood that every family must make a choice. In our time, this choice is more urgent than ever. The world has become a difficult and dangerous place for our children. As parents, we are raising sons and daughters in an era where the enemy works tirelessly to steal their hearts and minds.
Today’s generation is under attack from every angle. Our children are exposed to virtual pornography that is available on their phones, tablets, and computers. Many young people fall into secret sin while searching for identity and approval. The damage to their hearts is real and lasting. We see the effects of drug abuse destroying lives and dreams. Schools, which should be safe places, have become the scenes of deadly violence. We read stories of shootings and tragedies, often fueled by addiction, isolation, and brokenness.
The enemy uses social media, music, movies, and peer pressure to pull our children away from God’s truth. This is not just a cultural challenge but it is a spiritual battle. As parents, we cannot remain silent. We must stand firm and draw a clear line for our families. Our children do not need the idols of this world. They need to see Jesus Christ as their hero, their true example, and their hope.
God has called us to teach and guide them. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” We need to make time to be with our children. We must show them how to live in a way that honors the Lord. Through our words, actions, and choices, we can point them to Jesus.
Today's Prayer
Querido Padre Celestial,
I come before Your throne. Forgive me for my sins, both those I have done knowingly and those I have done without knowing. Please write my name in the Book of Life. Help me to walk in true salvation under Your blood. Teach me how to lead my family with wisdom and love. Help me raise my children in Your ways so they will choose to serve You all the days of their lives. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
