Caulkers Keep Sin From Sinking the Ship

Ezekiel 27:9 (NIV)
“Veteran craftsmen of Gebal were on board as shipwrights to caulk your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors came alongside to trade for your wares.”
Devoción
The caulker on a wooden ship keeps water from seeping in the seams and sinking the ship. Likewise, each church and family needs caulkers to keep sin and worldliness from seeping into our lives and shipwrecking our faith. A caulker is not a busybody – one who is into everyone's business. A caulker is more of a watchman on the wall like Ezekiel, who saw trouble coming at a distance in the spirit and sounded the warning (See Ezekiel 33:1-20).
Ask the Lord if being a caulker is a part of your ministry calling. Ask the Lord for the gift of prophecy to show you what is happening, and give you the right Scriptures and the right warnings at the right time, to speak what is on God's mind through the Holy Spirit rather than speaking your own mind. And even if you might not be a caulker in the larger body, every father should be the caulker in his own household. Check the children's electronic devices every now and then. Know who their friends are. Know what they are doing when they are out. Keep a sharp eye for sin and worldliness trying to disciple your children away from Jesus.
To be a caulker and to keep sin from seeping into the lives and families of others, your own life needs to be pretty well caulked first. As Jesus said, you need to have the log out of your own eye so that you can see clearly to help remove the speck from your brother's eye. If you expect to be welcomed speaking as a caulker in the lives of others, you need to invite and welcome a caulker or two to speak into your life as preparation.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You for Your Word today. What an inspiration. I thank You Lord that You see me as a worthy vessel for the master's use. Even though the role of a Chaulker is unpopular, my desire is to honor You in this capacity. Give me a burden for souls Heavenly Father. Lead me and move me in Your love, to speak the truth at all times no matter the cost. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. As a parent, your role is to steward the lives of your children. At times, you may be disliked for having a firm stance on God’s word and upholding godly principles. That’s ok. Find rest in knowing you are honoring God by raising your children in God’s way, without compromise.
