Behold The Lamb Of God

Sunday, December 3

Revelation 5:6 (NKJV)
“And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.”

John describes the way that he sees Jesus as a Lamb, standing between God’s throne and four living creatures. The Lamb had been slain and had seven horns and seven eyes. Horns are a metaphor for power. This symbolizes that Jesus was the sacrificial lamb and was slain. This points to the horrific and violent death that Jesus encountered on the cross to wash away our sins.

Jesus was God’s lamb who came as a sacrifice to save the world from eternal death and damnation. There is nothing that can not be covered by the blood of the lamb. How heartbreaking it must be for Jesus to see us live in shame and guilt for the very things that he died for.

When we come to repentance, we are washed white as snow. Jesus has paid it all. The lamb is not just enough for us in any circumstance, the lamb is more than enough. The more that we grow to know and love God, the more we see the lamb. He will never leave us lacking and always provides abundantly more than we need through his death and resurrection.

Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for the lamb that takes away the sins of the world. I find safety and wholeness under the blood of the lamb. I claim every promise that was fulfilled for me through the death and resurrection of the lamb of God. I am a child of God. In the name of Jesus, I pray and I give thanks. Amen.

What do you need to bring before the lamb? What shame, guilt, or sin are you holding on to? What do you need to give freely to Jesus at the foot of the cross? Our burdens are far too heavy to carry on our own because they were not meant to be carried alone. Trust the blood of the lamb with your family, your job, your ministry, your finances, and lay it all down at his feet today.
