Be A Grape Taster
Saturday, March 23
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV)
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.”
Devoción
God’s greatest promises are challenged by demonic and human resistance. But God is greater than all of that. You will have to face the problems to receive the provision. When Moses sent the spies to scout the promised land, they had a choice. Taste the grapes and take hold of the vision God was giving, or shrink back because there was opposition that could not be overcome by natural abilities.
God wants us to have a grape taster mentality about the things He has promised. The giants may be there, but if God has promised the grapes, you can go forward. The devils may be big, but you have to remember that you have an overpowering God.
It was a lot of work to lay hold of the promised land, and God said that part of the purpose of the process was to strengthen the people. God told Adam that he would work by the sweat of his brow – but He also promised that Adam would eat.
Get a picture of yourself as a grape taster. God has so much more for you than you can imagine. Keep in your mind a photograph of God's promises. We need to be reminded of the vision so that we do not lose heart. With God, you are moving into a better life, into something greater than you can produce, because God has a good plan for you.
He is the God of the impossible, for no mountain is too high for Him, nor valley too deep. Once you start thinking like a grape taster, you are renewed. You can do all that God has called you to do through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for Your promise that by the sweat of our brow we can earn the bread that we eat. Thank You for Your promise that in Jesus, we are no longer under the yoke of sin or the yoke of the law, but that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. I confess that it doesn't always seem light. Give me eyes of faith, ears of faith, and a tongue of faith to taste the grapes and all the good things in the promised land with Jesus. Help me say “no” to the fear, sin, resistance, and giants. Help me say “yes” to Jesus. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Losing heart is an odd phrase. Even when we’re pursuing a course we know was from God, the opposition or just the day to day effort can make us weary. On the inside, we wonder what it is all for and does it matter. In that moment, do not obsess in futility. Remind yourself, ask a fellow believer, search the Scripture for the answer. Try the gospel of John. Jesus said those things so that in him you may have peace. He said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
