Micah 7:8 (NKJV)
“Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me.”
Devoción
Everyone falls at times. We get into ruts and do not give our all. We make mistakes, get entangled in the cares of the world, or even fall into sin. Are you in a fallen state right now? Our failures do not have to keep us down. We are not defined by our mistakes. We may have become ensnared with the cares and trappings of life, but we cannot stay there. It is time to get back our courage, our confidence, and declare to the enemy that although we have fallen—that we will arise! Although we may sit in darkness, the Lord will be our light! We cannot distress or fall into a state of confusion or depression. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. “God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble.” Psalms 46:1.
Truly, the spirit and the flesh struggle within us, and there are times that we will fall. God did not send Jesus to die for us to leave us in a state of failure. The Word says that “we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” That doesn’t mean we will not struggle to do those things at first, whether that be living a godly life or trying to master a new skill.
The enemy may think that he has power to keep us down and distressed, but God is our light, as today’s scripture reminds us. He can shine into the darkness that is keeping us discouraged and depressed. He can lead us back to safety and right standing with Him. Refuse to stay down. Surrender not to the enemy, but to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Allow the Holy Spirit to draw back the curtains and let the “Son” shine in!

Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You I can come to You any time to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. I ask for forgiveness for letting fear, the flesh, and the voice of the enemy dominate me. Forgive me for staying in a state of failure when You gave me the victory through Christ. I accept Your redemption through the cross. I receive forgiveness for my sins. I accept being made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and by the grace and power of God, I get up! In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Repentance means ‘to turn around.’ It is not only a commitment to change but taking steps to make the actual change. It is not only stopping one thing but starting something else in its place. So wherever you have fallen, get up and go the other direction. Resisting the devil is being so full of God’s light (the Word of God, His Presence through prayer and actively loving others), that there is absolutely no room for anything else. The devil must flee!
