An Unchanging Mission

Matthew 24:3 (HCSB)
While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached Him privately and said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what is the sign of Your coming at the end of the age?”
Devoción
When the disciples asked Jesus about his return, he responded by giving many signs including hearing about wars, famines, and earthquakes. People will be deceived, great lawlessness will multiply, and the good news will be declared in all the nations. However, Jesus did not tell the disciples when this would occur. Jesus said that no one would know the day or the hour, which indicates this is not what he wants us to focus on. Regardless of when the Lord is returning, our mission never changes. Our calling as Christians remains the same: to love God, love people, and share the gospel until the whole world hears.
However, the signs of the times are evident. This should create a sense of urgency within us because many will be left behind when the rapture happens. The most loving thing we can do for others is tell them about Jesus. We often hold back from sharing the very thing that sets people free, that breaks every chain and changes eternity for a soul. Even when it is difficult, scary, or persecution may come, God will bless you for sharing His love, and telling others about the hope that you have in Christ. He blesses obedience and those who are devoted to Him.
There is no more time to be lukewarm. Revelation 3:16 says, “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” If we do not stand for something, we will fall for anything. At the end of the age, we are for God or against God. It is time to take a stand regardless of the cost and cling to the goodness and mercy that saved us from an eternity of torment and death. Praise Jesus for the cross!
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
Thank You for sharing with us the task of preaching the gospel to all nations. Thank You for Your Word, Your Holy Spirit and Your promise to be with us always, to the very end of the age. I confess that the gospel has not yet had its full impact on my own life. How can I teach others to obey everything Jesus commanded in areas where the log remains in my own eye? Lord, help me get the log out, especially in areas of major sin, including my lukewarm state and complacency. Then, open my mouth and enable me to speak Your Word with great boldness, to the groups and people you have called me to. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
