A Second Chance

2 Samuel 12:13-14 NKJV
“David said, ‘I have disobeyed the Lord.’ ‘Yes, you have!’ Nathan answered. ‘You showed you didn't care what the Lord wanted. He has forgiven you, and you won't die.’”
Devoción
David did a horrible thing. He cheated on his wife with Bathsheba, then he allowed the Ammonites to kill Uriah so he could take his wife as his own. But when it was brought to his attention by Nathan, David didn’t make excuses for his sins, rather, he acknowledged his disobedience. For that, God forgave him.
There are times when we allow disobedience into our lives. Not only does this grieve us, but it also grieves God. You can begin to think there’s no turning back. You may feel that your relationship with your Heavenly Father is broken forever. But those are lies of the enemy because we serve a merciful God. Our Father longs for us and lovingly calls us back to Him. As the Holy Spirit prompts you, begin to acknowledge your disobedience and allow the love of God to give you a second chance.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
I thank You for being the God of second chances. I praise You for the mercy You faithfully show me. Lord, like David, I acknowledge my sins before you. (Mention them to Him.) I ask You to forgive me and give me the strength to stand firm in my relationship with You, even when it is hard, or the temptation is strong. I commit to you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Decide today to take responsibility for your life. Stop attributing your past or life's challenges as excuses for disobedience. While adversity affects us all, each of us is accountable for overcoming it and growing in God's strength to live a victorious life. Commit to this decision and write it down to remind yourself of your commitment.
