A Heart Moved By Love

1 Chronicles 29:2-3,6,14 (NLT)
“Using every resource at my command, I have gathered as much as I could for building the Temple of my God. Now there is enough gold, silver, bronze, iron, and wood, as well as great quantities of onyx, other precious stones, costly jewels, and all kinds of fine stone and marble. “And now, because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction. This is in addition to the building materials I have already collected for his holy Temple. Then the family leaders, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the generals and captains of the army, and the king’s administrative officers all gave willingly. But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!”
Devoción
In today’s theme verses, we see an extraordinary example of sacrificial giving. King David, filled with love for God, willingly poured out his wealth and resources to prepare for the building of the temple. His passion stirred not only his own generosity but also inspired the leaders of Israel to give wholeheartedly (verse 6). This scene captures the essence of serving God with gladness and generosity.
David’s giving was not born out of duty or obligation but out of devotion. He acknowledged that everything he had belonged to God and that giving was merely returning what God had graciously entrusted to him. His love for the Lord compelled him to serve joyfully and invest in God’s Kingdom with a full heart.
When our love for God is genuine, it manifests in how we serve Him and how we give to His work. Whether it is our time, resources, or talents, true love for God flows outward in action. We are reminded that serving and giving are privileges—a response to the abundant grace we have received.
Consider this: When you think about all that God has done for you, does your heart overflow with joy and gratitude? Does it inspire you to give back to Him with gladness? Serving God should never feel like a burden, and giving should never feel like a loss. Both are opportunities to reflect our love and trust in Him, recognizing that everything we have is a gift from His hand.
Oración de hoy
Querido Padre Celestial,
As You intricately formed me in my mother’s womb, You wove within me a passion and a purpose. I long to use my passion in Your service. Please prepare me and help me to launch my passion into a purpose for the Kingdom of Heaven. Use me in whatever way You desire for me to reach others for You. I will give You all the praise and glory. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
